Cave No.4 494-525 A.D.
It is a stupa shrine typed cave with one door and two windows. It was unfinished in plan originally. Each side of the central column contains one Buddha and two Bodhisattvas. The walls of the cave have effloresced seriously. The southern wall has the inscription of “Record of iconography for the passed away husband” which is the latest image –making inscription in Northern Wei as we know, and it can not be recognized because of the weathering..
